The Gerald Peters Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the landmark exhibition Ansel Adams: Landscape and Light. This exhibition, beginning April 30th and continuing through June 19th, of historic black-and-white photographs includes many of Adams’ best-known and loved images taken during the 1920s through the 1960s. All of the more than 25 works in the show highlight Adams’ remarkable acumen for blending magnificent landscape subjects with a mastery of light and his genius in the darkroom. Organized in conjunction with the Andrew Smith Gallery, Santa Fe, the exhibition kicks off with an opening reception Friday, April 30th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

   In Memoriam
  Fritz White (1930 - 2010)
Fritz White photo

On Sunday, April 11th, Fritz White passed away after a long illness.

Fritz White was born on January 14, 1930 in Milford, Ohio near Cincinnati. The Little Miami River, which borders Cincinnati on the east, was a main thoroughfare north and south for the Shawnee tribes that were settled throughout Ohio. Artifacts of the Shawnees, Miamis, Mingos and even mound builders were common to the area. From these artifacts, his interest in the Native American people and their mythology was kindled.
Throughout his lifetime, Fritz shared his talents with others, teaching numerous educational sessions with young artists and conducting sculpture classes for the visually impaired. In addition to being a member of the Cowboy Artists of America, White was a member of the National Sculpture Society. Fritz's numerous awards include Gold and Silver Medals from the Cowboy Artists of America and the Northwest Rendezvous of Art.

Fritz is survived by his wife Ina, children Patrick White, Dana White, Stephanie White and Kimberly Hicks and grandchildren Jesse Rankin, Allison Hicks, Kaitlyn Hicks, Parker Hicks, Elijah Gomis and Grace Gomis.
