Legacy Gallery will be hosting their annual group show, "Legacy of the American West". The opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, March 18th from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. This show includes such illustrious artists as Roy Andersen, James Ayers, Clyde Aspevig, Scott Christensen, Michael Coleman, Robert Coombs, Josh Elliott, John Encinias, Loren Entz, John Fawcett, Luke Frazier, Daniel Gerhartz, G. Harvey, Oreland C. Joe, Jay Moore, Robert Peters, Kyle Polzin, Jason Rich, Laura Robb, Gary Lynn Roberts, Robert "Shoofly" Shufelt, Michael Stack and David Wright.

2010 March Auction

Altermann Galleries will present their "2010 Spring Auction" on Saturday, March 27th in Santa Fe. This annual event will take place in its auction facility at 345 Camino del Monte Sol, commencing at 1:00 p.m. Featured will be over 200 works by 125 artists. Included will be a large number of present and past members of the Cowboy Artists of America including Joe Beeler, James Boren, Harley Brown, Fred Fellows, Bruce Greene, Martin Grelle, Fred Harman, Oreland C. Joe, Frank McCarthy, John Moyers, Bill Nebeker, Gary Niblett, Gordon Snidow, Grant Speed, Donald Teague and Melvin Warren.

Also included will be many of the artists who have exhibited at the Masters of the American West, National Academy of Western Art and the Prix de West: William Acheff, Cyrus Afsary, Roy Andersen, James Bama, Chen Chi, Michael Coleman, Pino Dangelico, John Fawcett, John Falter, Veryl Goodnight, G. Harvey, David Mann, Bill Owen, Jason Rich, Robert Scriver, Lowell Ellsworth Smith, Michael Stack, Bettina Steinke, Tim Solliday, Kent Ullberg, Curt Walters, William Whitaker and Kim Wiggins.

The C.M. Russell Art Auction will be held March 17th - 20th at the Heritage Inn in Great Falls, Montana. Celebrating its 42nd birthday this year, the Auction has been called “the most enthusiastic, fun-filled, and hospitable auction event of any kind on earth.” It only seems appropriate, considering the Auction is named for famed cowboy artist Charles Marion Russell, a man whose passion for life, fun-loving nature, and sincere interest in the world around him are evident in the nearly 4,000 works of art he completed in his lifetime. The Auction traditionally takes place the weekend closest to Charlie’s birthday (March 19th). This year’s Auction features 260 pieces of art to be sold during two live auctions.
