"Contemporary Art Show & Sale"

The Mountain Oyster Club's "Contemporary Western Art Show and Sale" began in 1970 with the works of 18 artists in an effort to help the often overlooked Western artists sell their work. The show has grown to display more than four hundred works by over two hundred artists. Collectors have the chance to see works of lesser known artists hanging along side well established artists. The opening reception is on Sunday, November 22nd at the Mountain Oyster Club in Tucson, Arizona.

Scottsdale Artists' School (SAS) is hosting its annual benefit exhibition and sale Beaux Arts this Saturday, November 14. The school is honored to announce that Beaux Arts 2009 Signature Artist is Leslie B. DeMille. Mr. DeMille, who lives in Sedona, Arizona and has been commissioned to paint portraits of President Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and many other famous people, has taught at the school every year since it opened in 1983. “This year the cocktail reception and silent auction of original paintings and sculpture by nationally recognized artists will be the best ever,” said Beaux Arts chair and SAS board member, Mary Lueck. “Patrons will enjoy an exciting Quick Draw in three studios, the popular Trips and Treasures Boutique, great food, wine and music. It's an irresistible combination.” A selection of juried paintings created by some of the school's best students will also be a part of the auction fun. A highlight of the evening will be the raffle of the sculpture, “Pow Wow Partners” (#50 of 50) by John Coleman, president of the Cowboy Artists of America.

"Holiday Miniature Show"

Trailside Galleries is hosting its annual "Holiday Miniature Show", featuring a month long display of all new small works by their gallery artists. This select group of paintings and sculpture will feature a variety of subjects including western, landscape, impressionism, still-life and figurative works. The gallery will host a festive Holiday reception on Thursday, December 3rd from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Among the artists participating are members of the Cowboy Artists of America including Wayne Baize, Harley Brown, Don Crowley, Bruce Greene, Jim Norton, Gary Niblett, Dave Powell, Clark Kelley Price, Bill Nebeker and Gordon Snidow. Other participating western artists include Stan Davis, Michael Desatnick, Dan Mieduch, Cynthia Rigden, Brad Schmidt and Bill Anton. Figurative, landscape and still life artists will include Mian Situ, Morgan Weistling, Curt Walters, Dan McCaw, Elaine Coffee, Sherry Sander and Michael Malm.
