"Space Silence Spirit - Maynard Dixon's West – The Hays Collection" opened on February 28th
at the Grace Hudson Museum in Ukiah, California. The
exhibition encompasses seventy-one Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) paintings and
drawings spanning the six decades of this major American artist's career.
Assembled by western art authority Abe Hayes, this show of Dixon’s smaller
scale works traces his creative development and deep love of the West. The
exhibit also includes photographs of Maynard Dixon by Dorothea Lange, his
second wife, and Ansel Adams. Also represented are two paintings by Dixon’s
third wife, Edith Hamlin.

Port A Gallery in Port Aransas, Texas will be hosting "Port Aransas Centennial Celebration
Art Show & Sale". This show will feature new work from most of the gallery's artists. The show is in celebration of the 100th birthday of the small coastal town of Port Aransas, situated on the narrow sand-spit of an island known as Mustang Island along the Gulf of Mexico.
